ModelG at Planet Hollywood

Caesars Entertainment Corp and Gamblit Gaming recently launched their first skill-based gaming experience in Las Vegas. They decided that the trial phase will take place in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, which is why Gamblit has installed their ModelG, the social and interactive game table in this resort. From two up to four gamers can use the game table at the same time, so it is a multi-player machine with several games included that can be played on a 42’’ touch screen. Also, the ModelG includes a USB charging port, cup holders and purse hooks.

At this moment Gamblit installed only three such interactive game tables, and, initially, they will offer only two games in this stage of the trial, Gamblit Poker and Cannonbeard’s Treasure.

Gamblit Pokers is a highly addictive game where players can win up to 240 times the bet in a single hand, but they will have to show speed and skill to win such a reward. The rules are quite simple, since all gamers start with only two cards in their hand. A deck of cards will rapidly move in the centre of the screen, and the goal is to snatch all the necessary cards so as to form the best poker hand.

As for the Cannonbeard’s Treasure, apart from speed and skill, gamers will need to show their knowledge in naval warfare in order to win the chest of gold. The game is actually quite similar to blackjack, but on a whole different level. Gamers will get their hands of cards, no winning or busting in the beginning. That is when the burndown begins, while players get additional cards. The first player that gets closest to the objective will go home with a chest filled with gold.

The trial period in Planet Hollywood is merely a beginning, because, the moment the approval arrives, Gamblit will install additional ModelG games, first all over Caesars Entertainment facilities in Nevada, and then they will move on to California, with Harrah’s Resort Southern California being the first to offer the interactive game table.

The final goal of Caesars Entertainment Corp is to install as much as 200 additional ModelG game tables all over USA, but first the trial periods in Nevada and California need to end. The Nevada Gaming Control Board demands such trial periods that last at least 30 days for all new games that want to enter the market. For this occasion, Gamblit’s gaming technology will be launched under “New Innovation Beta,” program. This program is used by the Gaming Control Board and it quickens the introduction of a new game in the market. During the trial period, the game is fully operational, thanks to this technology.

Jennifer Forkish from Caesars Entertainment stated that their main goal during this trial period is to educate people about this exceptional new gaming experience, because “It marries the video gaming experience with the excitement of a casino atmosphere.”

No Merger for Fantasy Aces

Last week it was a done deal. Fantasy Drafts, one of the younger fantasy portals and provider of DFS have agreed to purchase Fantasy Aces and thus create a new DFS company able to compete with the announced DFS giant that is to be created when Draft King and FanDuel merger realizes. However, the epilogue was quite unexpected and it happened only a few days after Fantasy Aces officially announced the acquisition. Fantasy Draft decided not to follow through with the deal.

Many DFS companies are looking to merge their assets in order to tackle the high costs of operation and attract more players to a single website instead of competing with each other. As a result of this last year we saw the merger of two biggest DFS companies FanDuel and Draft King, as they decided to join forces instead of competing with each other. Being that these two were the leading players on the market, the newly formed company is expected to be the DFS leading operator. However, the rest of the DFS operator are strongly contending for the second place and apparently following the example of the mentioned two companies.

Fantasy Draft have came close to signing an acquisition deal under which they would purchase the players database of Fantasy Aces, a DFS provider that have already merged with Fantasy Feud earlier this year. This meant that three providers would form one and cover a larger number of players than they would have been able to attract separately.

On January 25th Fantasy Aces have frozen the activity, as well as user accounts on their website for the purposes of merging and transition of players’ accounts. It was stated on Fantasy Aces website and the process was expected to be finalized in 3-5 days. All was being arranged to make the smoothest transition possible for the players. In the case of players who had accounts on both websites, their credits would be transferred to Fantasy Draft account, while in the case of players who only had account on Fantasy Aces, a new Fantasy Draft would be opened for them. Everything seemed to be going as planned and the statements from both sides spoke about the benefits of the merger.

A few days later, an unexpected twist happens. Fantasy Draft announces that they are “unable” to continue with the merging process. Here’s the full statement announced on their website and media channels:

“Unfortunately, because of issues identified during our due diligence, we are unable to purchase the assets of FantasyAces. We will continue to provide the best possible daily fantasy experience for our users, and are committed as always to putting our Players First.”

As for Fantasy Aces, all you can see on their website is the following message: “An update coming shortly, please stand by.” This means that the user accounts are still frozen as well as their funds. There are no comments from the Fantasy Aces team.

Just like online casinos, fantasy sports portals need to be chosen carefully so you don’t find yourself with frozen funds or worse. As always check our Gambling Directory for the best fantasy sites, bingo rooms, online casinos and online poker rooms.

Video Game Gambling Machines?

Last week the history of gambling was changed when the first skill-based VGM (video game gambling machine) was launched at Harrah’s Atlantic City Hotel & Resort. The revolutionary game was developed by GameCo in cooperation with Caesars Entertainment, the owner of Harrah’s. The first skill-based gambling game is called “Danger Arena” and it represents a combination of action arcade games and gambling slot machines. It will be available across all Caesars casinos in New Jersey, while GameCo announced that it would be launched in other cities in the future.

Revolution In Gambling World

VGM or video game gambling machines are actually cabinets with controllers used for playing, featuring games similar to typical video game but with the gambling aspect of slot machines, which promise a certain return to player (RTP). GameCo was awarded the Silver Medal for VGM in the category Best Slot Product at the 16th Annual Global Gaming Business Gaming & Technology Awards.

The main aim for creating this innovative and ground-breaking concept was to meet the needs of modern players, specifically those generations who grew up on video games. Being that they are now coming of age and becoming legally allowed to gamble, there is an interest in casinos and gambling on their part but the traditional casino games such as slots simply do not suit their views of entertainment.

Slot developers are going out of their way to redesign and reinvent classic slot games in order to make them more appealing and immersive but what they lack is interaction. Precisely this is what VGM offer: active engagement of the player and the skill level which brings payouts. The first players that want to test their skills and get paid for them will have the chance to do so at Harrah’s Resort, Caesars and Bally’s Wild Wild West, all owned by Caesars Entertainment.

How exactly does VGM work?

Skill-based video game gambling machines represent video games for a single player who uses a controller similar to Xbox. The player has 45-90 seconds to demonstrate his skill and get his stake multiplied according to the level of his skill.

The financial aspect of the game employs traditional slot machine concept. The difference is that slots must completely depend on chance, that is to say, everyone has equal chances to win, whereas in VGM the winnings depend on the skill. However, there are rules on return to player which must guarantee an RTP of 83% or higher, so after careful analysis and consultation with slot experts, GameCo team have included a random selection of maps and a random bonus feature.

The first game is Danger Arena, an action video game in which the players must shoot the robots in order to win the prize. GameCo have announced that the upcoming games will cover different themes: adventure, puzzles, sports etc.

If you cant get to Harrahs to try this type of machine, play online video poker, slots or table games at any of the many reputable online casinos.
